Department Information
The Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries is the administrative department of this department. The State Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries (PADUM) Department is headed by the Hon. Minister, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries (PADUM) and he is assisted by the Hon. Minister of State. The administrative machinery of the department is headed by the Hon. Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries (PADUM). At the regional level, the Hon. Commissioner of Fisheries is the head of the department.
Under this administrative structure, the office of the Hon. Commissioner of Fisheries, Maharashtra State is located in Mumbai. The Hon. Commissioner is assisted at the commissioner level by three Joint Commissioners of Fisheries, three Deputy Commissioners of Fisheries, one Executive Engineer and one Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Fisheries) and at the regional level by seven Regional Deputy Commissioners of Fisheries.
The Assistant Commissioner of Fisheries is the District Head. A total of 1050 employees, including gazetted officers and non-gazetted employees, are working in the department.
